Socialization Enrichment & Educational Development for Young Adults - SYA
The Socialization Enrichment and Educational Development Program for Young Adults (SYA) provides a safe, comfortable, stimulating environment where adults ages 18-22 with intellectual/developmental disabilities can learn socialization skills to help with daily living. The primary goal of the program is to encourage young adults to reach their potential in socialization skills. Educational skills are enhanced through a wide variety of environmental experiences such as movies, bowling, physical fitness, and volunteering in the community.
Structured and supervised after-school activities and recreational opportunities are offered where young adults can interact appropriately with others of varying backgrounds and ages. Focus is placed on increased community awareness and interaction.
